Know what a Wombat is? Kookaburra? Ever seen a Kangaroo in the wild?

Walwa, North East Victoria, 8 January 2006

Just imagine.....

It is 6 00 clock in the morning and you get out of bed and look through the window.

Dawn is breaking and the sky is lighting to a golden blaze of colour.

You look across into the valley and see the mist, shrouding the river and hills in a
soft, white veil.

Quickly, you slip on your track suit and step out onto the veranda of your cosy cabin
and, into the crystal fresh, morning air.

The distinctive sound of the Kookaburra (the so called laughing bird) hangs in the
air as
you look down below and see the kangaroo, roving freely as it joins others to graze..

In Australia, there are lots of just simply, weird animals.

For example, the kangaroo is so different it has become the symbol of Australia.

Then we have the Wombat, which is like a huge teddy bear that, completely harmless,
digs huge tunnels underground.

Sometimes you will see huge flocks of the white crested Cockatoo, and perhaps a Goanna.

Don\'t know what a Goanna is?

Come visit with us: http://www.umhr.com.au/holiday.htm and find out.

Now Australia is a huge, mainly hot dry country and if you want see animals such as
these, you normally have to go on a long trek out into the bush, sleep in tents and
generally, \'rough\' it.

Well that was never for me.

What I want for my holiday is a chance to play golf, swim in the pool, sleep in
a luxury cabin, and have dinner at night in the restaurant.

What the kids want is to play in the pools, canoe on a river, go on bush walks and
get to see and know these bunch of weirdo creatures.

And be completely safe.

So the challenge has been how to combine the both.

North East Victoria is considered to be a pristine wilderness area, bordering
on the National Park and rural development.

The mighty Upper Murray River runs crystal clear in this area and is famous for
it\'s magnificent Murray Cod.

The air is so fresh, as you breathe, you feel the city smoke being blown from
your lungs, slipping your whole being into relaxation mode.

It is in this area that we have created a complete resort , giving luxury and access
to some of the weirdos.

what other families and romantic couples have to say about their experience.
